Dawn Harper Nelson and is an Olympic Gold and Silver medalist in the 100 meter hurdles. Her first thought is often “These titles are the end product of a life worth of hard work.” Over her 13 year career of being one of the top hurdlers in the world, she recognized that her success has been wrapped in not only her physical ability but her mental strength as well. Dawn uses her experience along with her psychology degree from UCLA to work with athletes spanning from kids new to sport to professionals currently in the game. She has a passion to connect with people and help them become “mental and physical monsters” while enjoying the journey towards their goals. Harper Nelson is now a dynamic speaker, broadcaster, wife, and mother of 2. Dawn believes attaining your goals are possible and not everyone needs to understand them. Why: From a young age I knew I wanted to see how far my talent would take me in track and field. I had no idea the life lessons I would learn along the way. Let me be clear not all of them were fun: to overcoming knee surgeries, self doubt and pressure from outside forces. It took time but I eventually created an environment in my life to make sure that I had everything in place to be as successful as possible whether it was diet, physical up keep, what I listened to, or what I did on and off the track. I learned talent is often the last thing that holds people back.

We chase how to physically get better and of course I am a strong believer in that but having that mental edge is a game changer. I remember when that clicked for me and I truly felt unstoppable. This journey of growth and goal achieving was not done alone. I had amazing people pouring into me every step of the way. My life would be very different without them and they will forever have a special place in my life. This is a huge reason why I continue to connect and help athletes of all levels. To share and see the lightbulb come on for them and they see their full potential is a dream come true for both of us.
